Community Services – Enbarr Foundation CIC

Here at Enbarr Foundation - ECM - Every Candidate Matters

Aims And Outcomes Our Every Candidate Matters is a new approach that has helped to bring about a change to the well-being of people of all ages in the UK, but focusses of those most vulnerable and at Risk like :-

  • Disabled People,
  • Lone Parents,
  • Ethnic Minorities,
  • People aged 50 and over,
  • Those with no qualifications,
  • Those living in areas of deprivation.
  • NEETS (Not in Education, Employment or Training)

In order to offer this service, we had to ensure we coordinated the support through proper channels, and follow strict guidelines outlined by the Government who wanted to make sure that every candidate had the support they needed to:

  • Stay healthy & Be Safe
  • Achieve Economically
  • Contribute to society positively
  • Gain Confidence / skills or certification to allow them the well-being to consider Employment as an option.
  • Enjoy life

Consequently any service that provided for that candidate, whether that be a job center, a college or any recruitment agency or training organisation, teamed up and shared information about the candidate in partnership. By working together in this way it ensured that the candidate would be safe and that people could help them achieve what they wanted in life. It gave the most vulnerable a voice, trust and confidence to move forward.

All local authorities ensured that they work with multi-agency partners to create the best outcome for candidates and most vulnerable in that area to help support Regeneration projects.

It meant working with candidates to find out what would suit them best, and constant assessments to make sure that the plans were working. Keeping in touch with the candidates was absolutely vital even after placement.

In August 2010 workers were given a voice in government for the first time with the appointment of AWR Regulations.

This gave the necessary platform for Every Candidate Matters to succeed, whilst also promoting the hard work of multi-agencies towards candidate in government itself.

ENBARR is a staunch advocate of the Every Candidate Matters, and pursue to promote it daily in all its Recruitment and Training Services. We also offer several Training courses and Support to help enable candidate awareness and remove Barriers to improve personal development and improve Well-being to ensure they are “Ready for Work”..

Job Coaching

Job coaching is core to the post-placement support that ENBARR (ECM) offers. Job coaches provide vital one-to-one support and motivation that helps people make the final steps into sustained employment. After an ENBARR (ECM) candidate completes their work placement, they are carefully matched with an employee volunteer who: “ It has helped me to identify the real issues in a situation, develop my problem solving and communication skills and drawn upon my leadership skills. ” Job Coach

  • Provides support and advice
  • Helps with CVs and interviews
  • Helps them to build their confidence and emotional resilience

How you can get involved Your business can get involved by offering the opportunity to job coach to your employees. This opportunity can form part of their employee volunteering activity, or an element of their learning and development programme. Your commitment All job coaches receive one day’s training. The training provides coaching tools and resources as well as information about the challenges faced by ENBARR (ECM) participants. Job coaches commit to meeting their coachee regularly, during work time, over a period of approximately 6 months. What this means for you Of ENBARR (ECM) volunteers:

  • 88% reported increased relationship building skills
  • 74% reported increased job satisfaction
  • 96% reported increased awareness of wider social issues

Your employees will need communication skills, empathy and dedication to become a job coach. Through supporting their coachee, they will be able to develop these skills further, whilst helping people into sustained employment. Sonya’s experience of job coaching Sonya, Head of UK Sourcing Management at Cargill, had previously coached children but found job coaching for ENBARR (ECM) to be the “most fulfilling” voluntary role she had experienced. To begin with job coaching was a challenge – Sonya’s coachee, Nigel, had never been in work and was from a very different background. But once they began to understand each other and found a way to work together, their relationship went from strength to strength. Sonya helped Nigel to build confidence in his skills and harness his strong desire to work. After just a short time, Nigel found a job with Sonya’s help. They continue to keep in touch to make sure that Nigel has the support he needs to really make a success of his new job.
